Sacraments of Service

Matrimony

Congratulations! If you’re interested in getting married at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, please review our marriage policy to see if our church is a good fit for your expectations. The Diocese of Harrisburg’s policy requires between nine and 12 months’ notice for weddings and participation in marriage preparation.

Diocesan Marriage Preparation

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament adheres to the Diocese of Harrisburg’s Common Policy for Marriage Preparation, which requires couples to attend one of the established Diocesan-approved marriage preparation programs:

  • Couple-to-Couple mentoring sessions are conducted within Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish. A mentoring couple will be assigned to you. Also, each couple will be required to attend a Deanery session on “God’s Plan for a Joy-filled Marriage.” This session is normally held on Saturdays at the Diocesan Center in Harrisburg, PA, and other parish locations throughout the diocese.
  • Engaged Encounter is a weekend experience that is normally conducted at the Hampton Inn in Mechanicsburg, PA.

You can learn more about Diocesan marriage preparation and view upcoming sessions on the Diocese of Harrisburg website.

Sacraments of Healing

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available Saturdays 4-4:45PM or by appointment.

Visit the Diocese of Harrisburg’s website for more reconciliation resources.

Anointing of the Sick & Last Rites

If you are going to have major surgery, please call the office at 717-233-1014 and arrange a meeting with one of the priests for anointing prior to your hospitalization. Hospital visits are at the request of the parishioner or family.

If you are hospitalized, please tell the hospital that you are a Catholic and would like to see a priest. Our diocese has priests specifically assigned to minister to area hospitals who are all on-call.

Funerals

The funeral home of your choice will contact the parish office and arrange scheduling and fees.

You can view an overview of Catholic Funeral Rites at the USCCB website.
